Sts. Peter and Paul Church
Destroyed by Fire December 28,
1996

Fire ravages throughout
the church from rear section up to the spire

Spire leans and begins to
fall as the roof burns and then collapses within the burning walls

Darkness turns to daylight
as fire consumes the 83 year old structure

Firemen continue to pump
water into the burning shell

The firemen begin the task
of collecting all the hoses used in fighting the fire

Firemen prevented the fire
from spreading to the adjacent parish hall

The front and rear of the
remaining structure

Demolition of the remaining
structure begins

As the walls are levelled
all that remains is rubble

Salvaged from the rubble:
Our Tabernacle, Monstrance, Lectionary Cover, Santuary Light stand, vigil
lights,
several Stations of the Cross....the first one found being "The
Resurection".

The "Grieving Community"
sharing Mass and exchanging well wishes in their hastily converted temporary
"House of Worship" in the Canadian Polish Society Center on December 29,
1996
Pictures will be added as they
