Thursday, January 15 - Jozefa Nowak (Opon)  passed at the Niagara Health System's Welland Site at the age of 81. Funeral Mass 10:30am, Monday, January 19th at Sts. Peter & Paul Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Welland.

                    She was predeceased by her husband Jan in 1984 and her son George in 1999. Cherished mother of Richard Novak (Mary), Krystyna Dolan (Terry), Donna Hanson and Janice Slevar. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Craig Evans (Krysia), Danny Evans, Jon Evans (Heather), Kimberly and Jennifer Hanson, Kristen, Stephanie and Allison Slevar, and her great-grandcildren: Michaela and Conner Evans. She will be missed by Tom Najbert and is survived by family in Poland. Mrs. Nowak was a faithful member of Sts. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church and had been active in the polish community.

Friday, March 26 - Former parishioner, Olga Montpetit (Kalmats)  passed at the Niagara Health System's Welland Site at the age of 88. Funeral Mass 11:00am, Tuesday, March 30th at St. Alexander's Roman Catholic Church, Fontill. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Welland.

                    Dear mother of Fred & his wife Wanda of Fonthill; grandmother of David of Calgary, Michael & his wife Kelly of St. Louis, Missouri, and Mark of Fonthill. She will be missed by her great-grandchildren Brock, Garret and Jordan Elizabeth, her sister in law Edith Kasmats and brother in law Joe Maiola and many neices and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Jack and Bill and her sisters Pauline, Ethel, Anne and Leona. Olga was a member of St. Alexander's Roman Catholic Church, the Atlas Retirees Jubilee Senior Citizen's Club, Rose City Senior Citizens Friendly Club, United Senior Citizens Club of Ontario and Sts. Peter and Paul Holy Rosary Society.

Sunday, April 18 - 12:30 p.m. - Easter Dinner - Canadian Polish Society, 595 Ontario Road. $10 per person.

Sunday, April 18 - 2:00 p.m. - Sweet Harmony presented "Like a Lamb - An Easter Cantata" in our parish hall. Tickets were $5 per person. Refreshments were served following the concert. Proceeds went to Jericho House and our church.

Monday, May 3  - 1:00 p.m. - Sts. Peter & Paul Seniors Club met in the parish hall. A guest speaker followed the meeting.

Thursday, May 13  - 7:00 p.m. - Parish Council meeting in the rectory. Jamie Hartman, diocesan "Harvest of Hope" Campaign Executive Director will be present.

Saturday, May 15  -  BAPTISM We welcome to the our Christian Family Xavier Philip Spalton and wish him God’s blessing during his journey through life with the risen Lord Jesus Christ.

Saturday, May 30  - 5:00 p.m. - Bishop James Wingle presided over the double celebration of the SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION for Casimir - Donavan Christopher Coleman and the FIRST HOLY COMMUNION for Alicia Christine Martin.

                Our congratulations and best wishes to these two young parishioners. After this solemn Mass, our Rosary Society invited all of us to the reception in the Parish Hall.

Tuesday, June 1 - Mieczyslaw Slusarczyk  passed away at the Woolcott Wing, Welland County General Hospital at the age of 74. Funeral Mass 11:00am, Friday, June 4th at Sts. Peter & Paul Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Welland.

                    Beloved husband of Teresa for almost 55 years. Dear father of Krys Beaver (Larry) and Eva Mayer (Gerry). Forever cherished by his grandchildren Stephen (Mandy), Jeffrey (Melissa), Jennifer (Garth), Ryan and Kimberly, and his great-grandson Austin. He is survived by a sister, a brother and many nieces and nephews in Poland. Mr. Slusarczyk was employed with Newman Steel for many years and later with Stelco Page-Hersey until his retirement. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, the Polish Society, the Polish Seniors Group, the Polish Combatants Society, and the former Polish Legion Branch 558.

Sunday, August 29 - Gerard Ogrodzinski  passed away at Oakwood Park Lodge, Niagara Falls at the age of 87. Funeral Mass 11:00am, Wednesday, September 1st at Sts. Peter & Paul Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Welland.

                    He leaves many fond memories for his wife Mary (Babela) and his daughter Christine. Dear brother of Wanda Perschon and Zygmunt Ogrodzinski. Also survived by his nieces and nephews. Mr. Ogrodzinski was predeceased by his daughters Mary, Helen and Irene, his brother Roman and sister Honorata Krupa. He was a member of the Canadian Polish Society and he had been employed with Stelco Page-Hersey for over 25 years until his retirement.

Sunday, December 5 - Mary Cirocco (Ginestre)  passed away peacefully at home while praying the rosary before going to 9 AM Mass in her 83rd year. Funeral Mass 11:00am, Tuesday, December 7th at Sts. Peter & Paul Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Welland.

                    Mary Cirocco (nee Ginestre) in her 83rd year. Cherished wife of Michael for over 62 years. Dearly loved mother of Gina Carmichael (Court). Sadly missed by her grandchildren John (Kristine) and Kevin (Tara), and great-grandchildren Charlotte, Mitchell and Samantha. Dear sister of Jackie Rosati (Elio) and sister-in-law of Jim Cirocco (Irene) and Reno Cirocco (Tina). She was predeceased by her sister Elena Cirocco and her brother Peter Ginestre. Mrs. Cirocco was a faithful member of Sts. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church where she was active in the Holy Rosary Society and the seniors club.

 Sunday, December 5 - The Sweet Harmony Choir  under the leadership of Mrs. Kay Brown, presented a program of Advent and seasonal music in our church at 2:00 PM.  Tickets were $5 each. Proceeds of the concert ($252.50) were donated to Jericho House and to Sts. Peter and Paul Church.

Tuesday, December 7  - Sts. Peter & Paul Seniors Club Annual Christmas Dinner will take place at the Polish Hall on Ontario Road at 5:30 PM.

Wednesday, December 15 - Daniela Szymkow (Zwolinska)  passed away at the Woolcott Wing of the Welland County General Hospital at the age of 72. Funeral Mass 10:00am, Friday, December 17th at Sts. Peter & Paul Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Welland.

                    She was predeceased by her husband Charles (1982) and her son Walter. She leaves many fond memories for her children Henry (Mona), Alina Vangog (Bill), Mary Lutka (Ken), and Stan. Babcia will be sadly missed by Corey and Rylee Vangog, and Jacob Lutka. She is also survived by family in Poland.
