Thursday, January 24  - 7:45 p.m. - Bishop James M. Wingle was installed as the fourth Bishop of the Diocese of St. Catharines on Thursday, January 24, 2002 at 7:45 PM in St. Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral.

      Cogeco TV taped the two hour ceremony for presentation on: Sunday, January 27, 5:30 PM; Thursday, Jan. 21, 2 PM; and Sunday, Feb. 3, 6 PM.

     Holy Father Pope John Paul II appointed Most Reverend James Matthew Wingle, Bishop of the Diocese of Yarmouth, as the new Bishop of the Diocese of St. Catharines.  Bishop Wingle becomes the fourth Bishop of our Diocese succeeding Bishop John O’Mara who has reached the mandatory age of retirement. Born in Pembroke, Ontario on September 23, 1946, Bishop Wingle was raised and educated in Eaganville. He was ordained a priest on April 16, 1977 for Diocese of Pembroke, and as a bishop on August 24, 1993 for the Diocese of Yarmouth.

Sunday, April 7  - 2:00 p.m. - an “EASTER  CANTATA”  performed in our church by the “Sweet Harmony Choir”, under the direction of Kaye Brown, raised $500 towards our new Church sign.

Friday, November 29 - Sr. Mary Aniela Hoffman, CSSF  passed in Mississauga, Ontario.  Mass of Resurrection was celebrated at 10:00am, Monday, December 2nd at the Holy Name of Mary Provincial House, 2165 Mississauga Road, Mississauga, Ontario.

                Sr. Aniela was born in Poland in 1915 and a Felician Sister for 55 years.  Sr. Aniela spent a few years as an active member of our Parish while living at the Felician Sister's Convent in Welland before being reassigned to the Holy Name of Mary Provincial  House in Mississauga several years ago.
