You are in 7 spades holding AJ973 AK63 AJ8 9 opposite Q64 J852 K5 AK76. The opening
lead is the diamond 7 which you take in dummy with the K. The spade 4 is run to
your J and the 10 comes down on your left. Plan your play and e-mail me your line

One of the very common offenses committed by players at all levels (including experts) is to inquire about the meaning of a bid that has not been alerted. The director is frequently called for this transgression as you may be inadvertently giving your partner unauthourized information. e.g. North opens 1NT and East bids 2D. The responder to the 1NT must now assume (if there is no alert) that East was showing diamonds. If RHO is really playing Capelletti, and 2D really showed the majors, then the NS pair will be protected by the Director. Please do NOT ask !
