The Prairie du Chien Miltia, artillery unit represents the Prairie du Chien milita. It was formed in the spring of 1814 to protect Prairie du Chien (on the Mississippi River) to protect the community against American forces from St. Louis.
Our unit was formed in 1991. It has 26 active members. It consists of three artillary pieces - a 3 pounder, a 1 pounder field pieces, and a 3 inch cohorn mortar.
