Our Framing Philosophy
We are a small company located in Stevensville, Ontario, in the heart of the Niagara Peninsula, operating out of our own timber framed home, which also doubles as a model home. As a family business, we are closely involved with our clients - from the initial contact, to raising day and beyond.

Dave Kobelka

My love of timber framing began as an interest in 1982 and developed into an enthusiasm which I have incorporated into my own home and continue to carry throughout each project, be it large or small. We make every effort to attend conferences of the Timber Framer's Guild of North America to exchange ideas with other timber framers and to continue to learn about this age old craft.

In my spare time, I enjoy baseball, hockey, and ice boating and spending time with my family. We make our home in rural Stevensville on a quiet ten acre parcel which accommodates our house and our shop, both are timber framed.

We take great pride in the timber framed homes we create and knowing that its inhabitants will also enjoy living in the home that we have designed and built together.

Rose Kobelka

I am the voice on the phone, the computer operator, the bookkeeper, the maid, the one who runs for supplies or parts, the one who pulls him out of the shop at midnight, helps him sand and stain timbers, brings him lunch while he works and... well, you get the picture, I'm the wife of a dedicated timber framer. I'm there when we meet with the clients at our dining room table, give the personal tours of our home (often with little or no advance notice.) I enjoy sitting down with our clients and share in their excitement as we layout the plans for their home.

I enjoy cooking, sewing, travel and reading. In my spare time, I am a volunteer at the local YMCA, teaching fitness and yoga classes.

Kelsey & Lacey Kobelka

Kelsey (21) is our oldest daughter and is already out on her own. Kels lives in Australia with her partner Reuben and their cat Henry. They operate a small business of their own: flickiter media, who did a lot of the preliminary work on this website. In her spare time she enjoys photography and horseback riding.

Lacey (18) has graduated from Lakeshore Catholic High School in Port Colborne and is excited about starting at George Brown College in Toronto in the Fashion Design program in September. She enjoys sewing, watching TV and listening to music in her spare time.

Sandy & Toebee

Toebee is our gorgeous orange tabby cat. His name reflects his love of nibbling on people’s feet! When not getting into mischief he can be found snoozing in one of his countless hiding spots or sitting on the edge of a timber waiting to have his ears scratched.

If you have had a chance to visit us at home or shop, you would have met our beautiful friendly old border collie cross, Sandy. Sandy passed away in February, 2005 at the ripe old age of 17 and we all miss her.
